‘Thanks for helping out with Santa this year! Joel did a fabulous job and we had lots of great feedback.’
Karen Freer, Marketing Manager, Mirvac Asset Management, Cooleman Court Marketing Manager, 27.12.13 ‘On Saturday the 21st of December 2013, we took our 2 ½ year old and 2 year old grandson to meet Santa Claus at Gungahlin Marketplace, outside of Big W. Being the age they were, as we got closer to the front of the line, the two boys became less excited and more scared. When we arrived at the front of the line, my grandson decided he wanted nothing to do with Santa and was crawling over my shoulder to get away. My son was hesitant in moving from behind his mothers skirt. It was obvious Mr. & Mrs. Claus had cone across this scenario many times before. With absolute professionalism, gentle coaxing and Santa disappearing from sight, Mrs Claus managed to coax my son onto the big chair. Santa slipped in behind Samuel and we managed to take the most beautiful photo of my little boy with the biggest smile on his face with Santa, albeit, he did not know Santa was behind him. Although we must have gone over our ‘allotted’ time, with further assistance and coaxing from Mrs Claus, we were able to obtain a photo of Samuel and Zachery next to the post box with Santa and Mrs Claus. Nothing was too much trouble for this professional duo. I have older children and have had the opportunity to visit Santa on many occasions, and at many different locations, over the years. In previous years lf my children were sacred of Santa or had a worried look on their face when the photo was taken, that is what you got. More times than not, it was disappointing rather than joyous. Never have I seen Santa take the trouble to move away and then sneak back in so photos could be taken with smiles and joy on the children’s faces In 20 years of taking children to see Santa, I haven’t come across a team as good as the one you have at Gungahlin Marketplace. Further, the fact we were able to take as many of our own photos as we wanted without having to pay an exurbanite amount of money for a professional photographer was terrific. It was wonderful to be able to get a photo with Santa and be able to immediately send them to relatives interstate. I would like to very much thank Santa and Mrs Claus for the professionalism, their outstanding skills and abilities to interact with the children and the extra time they spent with my two young children. It made the morning a wonderful experience.’ John Cartwright, Parent, Franklin, 21.12.13 ‘The Elf Show was fantastic and really made the whole night a success. Our forty preschoolers and their siblings were engrossed for the full hour and I don't think I've ever seen my son laugh so much. We'll certainly recommend you to the next year's parents association. Thanks again.’ Melissa Turner, Deakin Preschool, 18.12.13 ‘Congratulations on a fantastic performance at Dickson Library recently where a certain Ernest the Elf entertained children and adults with present giving antics for Santa. I found the Ernest the elf show at a local Canberra library recently edu-taining - educational and entertaining. I laughed a lot and was very impressed with how wrapped the children were with Ernest's mischievous antics. Ernest was quite cheeky, full of gogo juice and impossibly tireless - he had the children glued to what present he was going to gift Santa. he had a big stack of boxes each hosting a thoughtful gift for Santa ranging from upsized shorts, a scarf to his foot! he ended his show by giving Santa the gift of song, playing Jingle Bells using musical bells! Ernest also had a snow machine which enchanted the children. well done Ernest! " Yvonne crystal, Librarian, Dickson Public Library, Libraries ACT, Parks and City Services, Territory and Municipal Services Directorate, ACT Government, 14.12.13 ‘An entertaining and eccentric Santa that appealed to the children and adults alike. He was prompt, courteous and read cues well.’ Lydia Waldron, Parent, Watson, (Booked a Santa for a private function) 11.12.13 ‘Thank you for your help on the day - you surely kept the kids entertained and definitely added to the atmosphere!’ Robyn Condylios, Goulburn Race Club(Milo the Clown), 5.12.13 ‘You did a fantastic job yesterday, especially doing the same performance twice in one day! The kids and parents all loved you. Thank you again!’ Susan Dalliston, Parent, (Santa’s Gift Performance for a private Mothers Group Christmas Party), 2.10.13 ‘How fantastic is Ric the Real Santa? He certainly knows how to talk to the kids – and the parents just simply love him also! We’ve already received a couple of positive comments on our facebook page also! It’s an absolute pleasure dealing with you and Ric and great to have contractors so passionate about their work – it really does make all the difference, and the mums can certainly see it!’ Jason Costa, Commercial & Retail Marketing, Canberra Airport, Brindabella Business Park, 2.12.13 ‘Thanks so much for your wonderful Ernest the Elf show at Kippax Library today. As with last year our Story Time crowd were again enthralled by your antics! It was lovely to see the smiles and hear the laughter of children and adults alike. Keep up the good work!’ Lyn Wearne, Librarian, Kippax Library, Libraries ACT, 27.11.13 ‘I saw your performance and the reaction of the kids. Thanks heaps for coming.’ Leanne Crisp, Precious Momentz, Child Care Centre, 19.9.13 ‘Thanks again you did an awesome job this season. We like that there is something in your show for the adults as well!’ Belinda Connors, Chapman Primary School Fete Entertainment Organizer, 8.8.13 ‘Once again the kids and staff loved your performance and even adapting to the flying headphones that broke at your feet. We love having you. Once again thank you very much. We love having you and you cater for our students really well.’ Jenny Murch, Malkara Specialist School, 5.8.13 ‘All of our feedback from the committee and the public was fantastic re Milo's show!’ Amanda Brenner, Henry Lawson Festival, 17.7.13 ‘I just wanted to say thanks again for the entertainment at the party yesterday. The kids all had a blast—you did a wonderful job. Ava is Eliza's best friend, and she is really outgoing - I think that really helped to show Eliza how fun it could be to interact with you. Eliza is still talking about how funny you were. It was lovely that you stayed in character to watch her blow out the candles.’ Christie Nelson, Milo the Clown Children's Birthday Party, 22.4.13 ‘Izzal met you at Aayush's birthday party and just adored you. He hardly draws, but wanted to send you a picture and letter. Thank you for such an enjoyable afternoon. We all loved you. His little sister Jade asked where you lived. Then she said 'Oh he lives in the circus and cleans elephant poo.'’ Tracy Hemley, Parent, Milo the Clown Children's Birthday Party, Gungahlin 2.4.13 ‘I just wanted to tell you that my 4 year old really loved your Milo the Clown show at Woden shopping centre (I've never seen him laugh so hard). He had me put up your colouring in picture in his room in case he gets sad, so he can look at it and not be sad anymore. Keep up the good work.’ Jennifer Clancy, Parent, 14.4.13 ‘Just a little note to say a VERY big thank you for Saturday, I am in awe of how you handled a gaggle of very naughty children. We were most disappointed in their behaviour and that their parents did little to bring them under control. In hindsight I should have done more to help you out. I am very impressed that you managed to ride your unicycle on the back lawn and once again really enjoyed your show. Shame I never got a photo with you and the boys—but I will track you down sometime this year (probably when you least expect) and get one :).’ Margot Sachse, Milo the Clown Children's Birthday Party, 9.4.13 ‘Thank you Mark for the wonderful afternoon. Mothers had a great laugh too, and me in particular. Mathilde told me she had an amazing birthday, that you made her laugh a lot, especially when you said mum to her dad—she likes you very much. We do too. I think you are really committed and this is very moving to watch. Great job.’ Lauren Arthur, Milo the Clown Children's Birthday Party, 7.4.13 ‘We were SO very happy with what you and your performers brought to our event—it was really magical and I’m sure enriched the experience of many of our visitors. I did hear that some of the pesky teenagers gave you a bit of a hard time. Silly sods. My two grand kids (girls) thought you were great and laughed and laughed. So did my daughter and she’s a grown up! Every time I saw you, you were out and about around the showground so I am not surprised your legs are sore. ‘We wanted you to know, that I think we all definitely very much enjoyed your Milo the Clown (or was it Ovaltine – no, just Clowning around) act to us, and it was great to see that not only the kids, and not only just Josephine (lol), but the rest of us adults had an absolute ball with you, and not just a ping pong ball, and we enjoyed it immensely. It was worth every dollar (I think), yes, definitely was. Thanks for extending your 1 and a quarter hour show to at least a one and a half hour show, as I think it was a sign that your show was appreciated truly by both parties, as in our party, and yourself. Especially with the lovely and lonely Josephine nearby. But truly, we did appreciate that very much. But on a serious note (e-minor), thank you so much for entertaining us all yesterday afternoon, and making the kids, and us adults laughing out so loud. We hope the kids didn’t get too cheeky with trying to yank off your big red nose towards the end.’

The performance was perfectly pitched for our assembly of ages (from 18 months to my Dad at 87) but we do want to know what Milo is eating that let him maintain that amazing energy in 35 degree heat! Thanks also for the care with the birthday girl Maddy, who was threatening to go into orbit by the end and the deft touch in knowing what to ignore and what to wind up. We all had fun and appreciated being included without being forced. It was a lot of fun and the stuff of Maddy’s dreams. Can’t thank you (both?) enough!,

‘I worked with Mark and James for the Opening Ceremony of the 2009 Canberra SF/Fantasy Convention, aka Conflux. I was in the role of MC while they were the warm-up act, but they turned out to be much much more than that. And not merely warm but red-hot!
To begin with, they used one of their standard routines, dressed up in futuristic security force outfits as ‘Panic Patrol’. Pretending to frisk the audience and discovering (= planting) unexpected objects, they soon had everyone in stitches. When they turned on me—well, it was both pre-planned and ad-libbed. Their politely authoritarian police voices were spot on.
James then stayed and worked in with my MC patter, while Mark slipped off to change into his silvery lobstery alien costume. ‘On Saturday December 6, 2008 the Main foyer at the National Gallery of Australia was abuzz with children in ballet costumes, excited parents eager to see their babies on stage and guests of all ages waiting to be admitted into the James O. Fairfax Theatre.
In amongst the throng of people, a sprightly elf skipped into view. ‘Ernest the Elf’ was instantly popular with children and adults alike. He quickly generated an atmosphere of fun and festivity and led the way into the theatre where guests were settled into a packed house in time for the ballet concert to begin.
Ernest was wonderful in encouraging guests to take up all available seats and focused the audience with a series of fun yet sophisticated and interactive ‘party tricks’ including a large and seemingly cumbersome stack of Christmas presents that he moved expertly across the stage, thrilling the audience who expected them to topple at any minute.
Although Ernest was only in the Gallery for a total of about 15 minutes he made a lasting impression and added greatly to the experience of all in attendance. Ernest the Elf was colourful, lively, popular and funny. He provided the perfect start to the National Gallery of Australia’s Christmas Concert in 2008.’

What a costume! –with electronic sounds, flashing lights and hidden stilts that raised Mark to a towering two and a half metres. The effect was spectacular. The alien came on as an additional uninvited Guest of Honour, proceeded to terrorise the MC and Panic Patrol, then dramatically declared the convention in session. No surprise that everyone had their cameras out! The Conflux alien will be talked about in fan circles for a very long time to come.
I found Mark and James highly creative and at the same time highly professional. Everything was done with a minimum of fuss; they knew exactly what to prepare for every routine. It was a pleasure working with them, and I know the audience loved watching them.
Thanks, guys! I’ll recommend you to anyone, anywhere, for any event!’

‘Your range of work and enthusiasm added to the general vibe of 'the street’. To create a new and innovative piece is one thing but to have become such an instant success is another. The good comments were flying right up the line. Everyone was impressed! Having worked in the area of street theatre and wandering entertainment for many years I must say that I am impressed with your combination of theatrics and technology as it adds another dimension to performance and is a valuable element in the mix of any street program. A hearty future!’

‘It was in the Canberra Centre that I saw it. At first it looked like another decorated artificial Christmas tree, until this one moved – then it slid closer to a display, then it bend over, and then the camera flashed. Unsettling, to find a tree that walks and bends. Christmas is like that, full of unsettling experiences.’
